DEARBORN, Michigan: Ford is pulling back tens of thousands of its electric pickup trucks over a steering defect that could lead to crashes, U.S. safety regulators said.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 29,501 Ford vehicles are being recalled due to a detached control arm. This could result in loss of steering and vehicle control, posing a serious safety risk.
The recall specifically affects certain 2024–2025 F-150 Lightning BEV (battery electric vehicle) models, Ford's flagship electric truck.
The company has not yet reported any crashes or injuries linked to the issue, but the NHTSA emphasized the defect significantly raises the risk of accidents.
