With the offseason program complete and Rams Training Camp starting up on July 22, it's time to look ahead. As part of the preparation for training camp, theRams.com will be spotlighting a handful of players new to the Rams' roster. Kicking off the series is wide receiverDavante Adams.
How He Got Here:After becoming an unrestricted free agent after being released by the Jets on March 4, Adams signed a two-year deal with the Rams on March 13.
What's Next:Continuing to get comfortable in the Rams' offense. This is already being accomplished in many different ways, from his regular communication with Matthew Stafford to offering his own input (according to Puka Nacua), and training camp will allow him to pick up where he left off. While it's only been routes on air this spring because of OTA regulations, it's clear the 32-year-old receiver still has plenty of juice left and the ability to make an impact.
Bet You Didn't Know:Per the NFL's Next Gen Stats, Adams recorded 490 yards after the catch 10th-most among qualified receivers last season. (For what it's worth, Nacua was sixth with 535.)
Quotable:"It's been absolutely fantastic (having Adams as a teammate). Every time we get out on the football field, he's so willing and open to everybody to talk and communicate, and he's seen so many different things, and the ability to win against negative leverage, the ability to move people at the line of scrimmage, and one understanding how coverage is, but then how you move best on the football field. I wish I could have the exact same skill set as Davante Adams, but him being able to try to communicate and allow me to kind of add things to my toolbox that fit my skill set... He's been absolutely great." Nacua on Adams on June 17
